Acne

Acne is a skin condition that causes pimples, including whiteheads , blackheads and red, inflamed patches of skin. Each individual pore on your skin opens to a follicle, which contains a hair and your sebaceous, or oil-producing, gland. When these glands produce too much oil they can clog your pores, which causes a build up of dirt, skin cell and bacteria, resulting in acne.

Three out of four teenagers will get acne. Acne is common in teenagers because surging hormones can cause oil glands to produces excess oil.

Acne can also be caused by comedogenic oils that come in contact with the skin, such as those contained in hair and skin products, high humidity and other hormonal changes triggered by stress, menstrual periods, pregnancy and birth control.

All Pharmaoil products contain oils that are non-comedogenic, meaning they will not block your pores. Pharmaoil Skin Therapy for example is an excellent moisturiser that will not block your pores. Other products, including Pharmaoil Soap for oily skin, Pharmaoil Daily Mist, Pharmaoil Scrub and Pharmaoil Bath Salts are not only noncomedogenic, they will also cleanse and exfoliate your pores, ridding them of any dirt or bacteria build-up.
